Hello again! I wanted to post some ideas for hand lettering phrases and quotes. Usually I'll choose two different colors to write with, depending on the words I want to emphasize. For example, "enjoy the little things" has two words I can put emphasis on, enjoy and little. The colors I choose might be contrasting, or similar. If I really want to exaggerate a certain word or phrase, I might choose a bold color. If something is subtle, I would probably choose a lighter or darker shade of the same color.
Then there's formatting, which is how you place your words. In general, less important words like the, a, an, or and, should be smaller and placed under the more important words in a phrase. You also want to choose a style for your border. For my first hand lettering phrase I did a leaf border, which was really easy. Or you might not want to do a border at all.
It's your choice when it comes to hand lettering and calligraphy. However, you probably shouldn't be taking advice from me because I literally printed out my first worksheet two days ago. As I said, your choice.
Thanks for reading!
